International trade connects countries and cultures. It was in the past like that - and will also be in the future like that. Germany was always somewhat more international than other nations - we benefit from that. We are world export champions - nevertheless China will make this title contentious for Germany.
But no reason to the concern - China overhauls Germany and other nations due to its enormous growth - not due to their weakness. Within the BRIC states China plays the dominating role. And the 21. Century is the one of the Asians.
This requires an adjustment of the strategy in many German enterprises - in particular in the small and midsize ones - because completely new markets are developing in Asia. Knowing the facts, we must admit that Asia is a market with high hurdles for Europeans and Americans.
We see it as our task, to master these hurdles together with you.
