As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the occasion of the visit of the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on 28 January 2009, commodities to the value of EUR 1.3 billion were exported from Germany to China in the period January to November 2008 according to provisional results.
This was a rise of 14.3% compared with the same period a year earlier. Chinese commodities to the value of EUR 54.3 billion (+5.6% compared with January to November 2007) were imported to Germany in the first eleven months of the year 2008.
