The Internet offers great opportunities. Unfortunately these are also used to make business in an unserious way. One of these tricks concerns Domains and Keywords from China.
Just recently the following E-Mail reached on of our clients:
Dear Manager,
This email is from China Domain Name registration service company in Shanghai. A formal application here dated on June 9th, 2009 from Henshin company requested "XXX" as their internet keyword and CN domain names on internet . But after checking it, we find this name conflict with your company. lt's necessary to send email to you and confirm whether this company is your business partner or distributor in China?
If like that, we will finish this company's application. If this company is not your partner or distributor in China, hope you can contact us in time so that we can deal with this matter better.

These pretended request for a Keyword and a Domain is not true and is only used the set the contacted company under pressure. In worst case, the company orders the provider to register these Domains and Keywords. By paying a much too high price.
Here attention is required. In general we recommend all enterprises, which own a relevant brand, to register this brand in China and apply for a corresponding .cn Domain. The cost for such a Domain is – depending on the provider – up to 59 EUR.
