Dear Reader,
first of all we would like to whish you all a Happy New Year!
Some time has passed since we have published our latest Greater China Water Sport & Yacht Industry newsletter. Our team in Hamburg and Dalian was pretty busy with some exciting projects.
But we would like to start the New Year with an update from China. Things are moving and the acquisition of Della Pieta shows that Chinese managers also have an eye on the business here in Europe.
This is one reason, why we invite managers and executives to our delegation trip to China in April 2010. Details can be found in the newsletter.
We would be more than happy to receive your positive feedback – and of course getting a request for one of our various services we can offer to you from our office in Dalian and Hamburg.
Best regards
Dirk Mussenbrock & Wang Lei
A yacht industry merger went unnoticed in Zhejiang province. A company named Shengshi Yacht purchased the Italian yacht brand Dalla Pieta, spending 100 million yuan (appr. 10 Million EUR).
Dalla Pieta had a shipbuilding history of 50 years, and was a brand focused on manufacturing luxury yachts. Many people described this brand as the shipbuilding equivalent to Ferrari. Under the impact of the financial crisis, Dalla Pieta unluckily encountered many customers who suddenly disappeared after placing orders. Causing the company sink into a severe financial crisis. So they sold the brand, as well as their designs and 13 unfinished yachts to the Chinese enterprise.
